A Brief History

Ian first started to play the pipes at the age of seven and played in the Oxford Caledonian Pipe Band until leaving school, when he joined The Blackwatch Royal Highland Regiment.

As a Regimental Piper and a part of The Blackwatch Pipe Band Ian toured many countries. Played for thousands of people, including the President of the United States and our very own Royal Family.

Over the years he has built up a vast and varied repertoire, including traditional, modern and sing-a-long tunes, and always willing to learn new tunes along the way.

After Ten years of serving in The Blackwatch, I returned to Civie Street and back to the Oxford Caledonian Pipe Band, where he is now the Pipe Major.

As a Solo piper he is in constant demand for weddings, New Years, Burns celebrations, conferences, funerals and a lot more, including Television appearances, the most recent being Midsomer Murders.

Celebrate in style…Hire a piper.

From weddings to Gala Dinners a piper is a perfect way to welcome guests to any event.

Please remember, New Year, Burns and St Andrews celebrations are in great demand,
So book early to avoid disappointment.
